The 2024-2025 figure skating season has began and I don't know about you all, but I sure am excited! Figure skating season always starts with the kickoff of the ISU Grand Prix, a series of six international figure skating competitions that are hosted once every weekend between now and the end of November which determine qualification for the Grand Prix Final, a seventh competition which determines the winners of the Grand Prix as a whole.
Each skater or pair in contention for the Final will be entered in two of the series competitions. They receive a certain amount of points for each competition, based on their placement at each competition. At the end of the series, the top six skaters/pairs will qualify for the Final.
The points are awarded as follows:
1st – 15
2nd – 13
3rd – 11
4th – 9
5th – 7
6th – 5
*7th – 4
*8th – 3
(*Singles only)
I created a Google spreadsheet with the full list of every skater in contention for the Grand Prix Final to track the standings across all four disciplines. I'll be updating it after every competition so you can follow along as the leaderboard changes. You can access it by clicking here: Grand Prix Standings Spreadsheet
